SugarData
Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
SugarData is operated by Yakov Okshtein (flyashi@gmail.com). This policy covers the public website at sugardata.io and the companion app at app.sugardata.io. SugarData is not affiliated with Dexcom or Nightscout.
The public website
The marketing website does not set cookies, run analytics, collect glucose readings, or ask you to sign in. If you use the appearance button, your light or dark preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not sent to SugarData. Hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and secure the website.
Google sign-in
When you sign in to the companion app, we receive your email address, display name, and Google account ID. We use these details to identify your account and apply device permissions. We request no other Google data and do not receive your Google password. The app uses a session cookie to keep you signed in.
Device and sharing information
While the owner keeps the matching upload enabled, a linked device can send:
- Status: the glucose reading on its screen, WiFi network name, signal strength and local IP address, memory use, sensor or Nightscout connection state, sensor session age, battery and charging state where supported, firmware version, and uptime.
- Settings: data source, units, brightness, layout, time zone, the Nightscout site address without its path or token, sensor pairing code, saved WiFi network names, and upload switches. WiFi passwords are not included in device reports.
- Glucose history: reading value, change, trend, predicted value, sensor information, and timestamps where available.
- Requested diagnostics: screenshots from supported screens when an owner or manager requests them, and logs when the owner requests them.
Devices also send a device ID and hardware address. We store the email addresses an owner adds as managers or viewers, the bridge selected as a display’s source, and the account permitted to make that connection. Removing that account’s bridge access stops the connection.
A Nightscout URL or WiFi password entered in the app is sent to the device once and then deleted from the command record. We retain the site address and network name, rather than the entered secrets.
How information is used
We use this information to show readings and status to the owner and the people they add, change device settings, update firmware, and operate the service. We do not sell data or display advertisements. Google handles sign-in, and hosting providers process information required to operate the website and app.
If an owner enables a Nightscout-compatible feed, anyone holding that feed’s secret URL can read that device’s sensor readings. Share that URL only with people you intend to give access to.
Storage and deletion
Device and account data are stored on the 3000cloud hosting platform. Glucose history is deleted after 90 days. A device retains its last 10 screenshots and last 20 logs. Unlinking a device deletes its readings, screenshots, logs, people, and feed URL. Devices that were never linked are deleted after 30 days without contact.
To request deletion of your account or other data, or ask a privacy question, email flyashi@gmail.com.
Readings and medical decisions
Readings may be delayed, missing, or wrong. Do not use SugarData for treatment decisions. Confirm readings with your sensor’s official app or a meter.
